The Ohio Children’s Trust Fund requires all organizations receiving funding for programs and services to administer the FRIENDS National Resource Center's Protective Factors Survey. The survey is designed for use with caregivers receiving child maltreatment prevention services.
The survey measures protective factors in five areas:
- Family functioning/resiliency
- Social support
- Concrete support
- Nurturing and attachment
- Knowledge of parenting/child development.
The primary purpose of the Protective Factors Survey is to provide feedback to agencies so that they can continuously evaluate and track changes in individual families' protective factors while receiving services. The survey results are designed to provide agencies with the following information:
- A snapshot of the families they serve
- Changes in each protective factor
- Areas where workers can focus on increasing individual family protective factors
How to Access the Protective Factors Survey
