Stephanie McCloud is a board member for the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine named Stephanie McCloud Director of the Ohio Department of Health on Nov. 5, 2020. 
At the time of her appointment, McCloud was serving as Governor DeWine’s Administrator/CEO of the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC), where she successfully led an agency of nearly 1,800 employees, assets of $28 billion, and more than 600,000 open claims.


McCloud is a veteran executive with a diverse background that includes 20 years of experience in public administration as well as macro health delivery in workers' compensation, mental health and addiction treatment arenas. She served for six years as a member of the state’s Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists Board and for more than 12 years as a board member of the Maryhaven behavioral health and addiction treatment center in central Ohio.
She began her career as a staff attorney at BWC before serving as legal counsel to both former Governor George Voinovich and the Ohio Department of Transportation. She later joined the office of former Attorney General Jim Petro, first as senior deputy attorney general before advancing to chief counsel.


McCloud, 50, is also a former Truro Township Trustee and active community leader. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University and a law degree from the Capital University Law School. She was a recipient of Columbus Business First's "40 Under 40 Award" in 2010. In 2019, she was named a “woman to watch” in the insurance industry by the international publication Business Insurance.  In 2020, Columbus CEO named her to its 2021 class of Future 50 leaders – a diverse group of accomplished people committed to making Columbus a world-class community.
